Associate Director, Post-Acute and Continuing Care Services
The Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) is currently seeking a full-time Associate Director to join our Quality team. This position reports to the Director, Quality Advocacy, Research and Innovation (QARI), and is responsible for supporting QARI’s post-acute/continuing care service quality improvement, legislative, regulatory and accreditation agenda through policy analysis, education, research, support and the development of various resources. Specifically, this position will focus on HANYS’ policy, advocacy, innovation, and quality of care improvement work related to post-acute and continuing care services. Our ideal candidate is a team player who is motivated, enthusiastic and has exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Assume a leadership role related to post-acute and continuing care policy, advocacy, and quality of care
Work in collaboration with HANYS members, and advocates on their behalf with regulators, policy leaders, and accrediting organizations
Work in collaboration with the nursing home and homecare organizations, and federal and state associations, as appropriate, to advance member post-acute and continuing care priorities
Develop information, education and other communication that assists members to achieve their organizational goals and meet external expectations
Create, implement and/or support HANYS’ initiatives specifically related to post-acute and continuing care
Obtain member input and feedback on various post-acute and continuing care Association policy and programmatic priorities
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or a related field with at least five years’ experience in post-acute and/or continuing care, public policy, quality improvement, or comparable field
Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants or other clinicians are encouraged to apply
Master’s Degree in Public Policy, Public Health or other comparable field will be considered in lieu of clinical certification with post-acute and/or continuing care experience as listed above
The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal, writing, data analysis and communication skills
Ability to travel approximately 5%-20% of the time to meet project deliverables
