We are looking for an experienced QI RN with a background in Hospital quality, accreditation and patient safety.
Assists in the design, implementation and maintenance of quality, patient safety and regulatory readiness activities within the Hospital System in collaboration with Hospital and Medical Staff Leadership, Department managers and front line staff. Leads, facilitates and mentors individuals/teams/committees to assure the successful organization and execution of processes to achieve quality outcomes, patient safety and ongoing accreditation readiness. Assists with quality management studies through data collection and report development.
Knowledge/Skills Minimum Knowledge/Skills Requirements Advanced Expert knowledge in quality and process improvement methodologies such as LEAN or Six Sigma. Expert knowledge in systems thinking and patient safety. Expert knowledge of hospital operations and processes. Effective oral and written communication skills that are responsive to a wide range of audiences. Understands organizational dynamics, demonstrates ability to build partnerships with medical staff and lead others toward goal achievement. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and strong independent problem solving and analytical skills. Demonstrated strength in group presentation, facilitation and project management. Ability to prioritize, organize activities and meet deadlines. Current knowledge of JCAHO, federal, state and local requirements. Strong leadership and management skills; demonstrated success as a facilitator.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills Advanced Expertise in statistical process control techniques and tools. Ability to develop pareto graphs, control charts, histograms, scatter-plot diagrams and know when to use appropriately. Technical knowledge of spreadsheet programs. Demonstrated ability in implementing large-scale projects.
Experience Minimum Experience Requirements 3 years Recent experience in acute care regulatory compliance (JCAHO, DOH, CMS). Demonstrated experience successfully working with medical staff and multidisciplinary team members. Clinical experience in acute care. Experience in a management and/or leadership position. 2 years Recent quality improvement experience. Recent data management experience.
Preferred Experience 5 years Experience in regulatory compliance, quality management, performance improvement and patient safety.
License/Certifications Minimum License/Certifications Requirements At time of hire WA State RN license
Preferred License/Certifications At time of hire Certified Professional in Healthcare (CPHQ)
