Houston, TX - Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center (BSLMC), the flagship hospital of CHI St. Luke’s Health seeks a dynamic, experienced and highly visible physician leader as its new Chief Medical Officer (CMO). Located on the Texas Medical Center campus, BSLMC is a quaternary care facility and primary teaching hospital of the Baylor College of Medicine created through a joint venture between CHI St. Luke’s and Baylor College of Medicine. CHI St. Luke’s Health is a part of Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI)—one of the nation’s largest health systems.
As an integral member of the senior leadership team of BSLMC, the CMO will lead the hospital’s continuing emphasis on high-value, safe patient care through oversight of all aspects of physician performance, quality and clinical integration. He/she will provide the clinical, operational and strategic leadership necessary to deliver high value care across the continuum of care. The CMO will serve as the clinical leader of the new service line organizational structure, working with the service line chiefs to standardize practice models across BSLMC in order to reduce length of stay, re-admissions, improves quality outcomes and the patient experience.
The successful candidate will have substantial clinical practice and executive leadership experience in a large complex tertiary medical center, preferably academic. MD/DO with applicable board certification is required. A Master’s degree in business administration, medical management or related field is highly desirable.
