University Medical Center of El Paso (UMC) is looking to fill the Administrative Director of Quality Management (Director) position. UMC is located in El Paso, TX and is the area’s only not-for-profit, community-owned, full service acute care facility and the only Level I Trauma Center within a 250-mile radius. We are a teaching hospital and healthcare system and a regional referral center for patients in need of specialty care. Unlike the other hospitals in El Paso, UMC is owned by the people of El Paso.
In collaboration with the Chief Nursing Officer, the Director plans and directs the operational, budgetary and personnel activities of the Quality Management Department. The Director fosters teamwork and integration of services and staff in the Quality Management Department and facilitates growth and development of the department in response to the dynamic nature of the healthcare environment.
Requires a wide range of concepts, principles, and practices in the healthcare profession, and applies this knowledge and skills to the development of new methods and approaches using performance improvement principles. Ensures improvement opportunities are prioritized based on their occurrence and expected impact on patient outcomes. In performing the duties to support safe and effective care, uses the principles and guidelines for acquiring and maintaining Magnet Status from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) through implementation of Shared Governance Nursing Councils, evidence based practice and the promotion of Professional Nursing at University Medical Center of El Paso.

Education and Work Experience Requirements
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Business Management required. Doctorate degree preferred.
Current RN-Texas license.
Seven years in a Management/Supervisor capacity in healthcare environment with quality management related duties to include RCA, case reviews, Joint Commission experience.
Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) required within two years of being in the position.
