As the Risk Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the risk management activities of Reading Hospital and Reading Hospital's associated entities. Responsibilities include managing and overseeing the malpractice insurance program, reporting to Mcare, and performing claims management, including significant interaction and confidential communication with legal counsel. The Risk Manager will manage and analyze risk management and incident reporting strategies/data and provide risk management educational programs. Duties include designing and implementing programs to control company losses and to transfer and/or finance risk protocols that will minimize adverse financial impact to the organization.

Qualifications:          

• A Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred
• Experience in corporate general liability, malpractice insurance, health care risk management, and management of medical malpractice litigation
• Experience in a health care setting
• Ability to organize an establish an agenda and effectively lead meetings
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Legal, risk, and medical malpractice studies preferred
• Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) preferred
