Our client, the only fully-accredited acute care specialty hospital for advanced cancer patients in the US, is seeking a Chief Medical Officer. This organization provides inpatient care, home care, hospice, outpatient care and wound care, and is guided by the mission of bringing compassionate, expert care to terminally ill people suffering from cancer and other life-limiting illnesses, and to care for the families with the same sensitivity provided to the patients. Located in NY and reporting directly to the President and CEO, this executive will join a unique, multi-faceted, world-renowned organization known for its expertise in end of life care, palliative medicine and hospice services.
In collaboration with other senior leaders, the Chief Medical Officer will have responsibility for building a cohesive/integrated culture among healthcare providers and for the delivery of high, quality service excellence, focused clinical services, while collaborating in strategic planning necessary for growth initiatives and programs. This executive will be a strong, visionary, entrepreneurial leader and advocate and will serve as a role model while inspiring and fostering an environment of collaboration, quality, patient safety, and physician as well as patient and family satisfaction. Ideally, candidates will have backgrounds in palliative care and pain management with experience in inpatient, ambulatory and outpatient services, and hospice care. S/he will possess strong leadership and administrative skills with a minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience. Program development, collaborative problem resolution, and strong communication skills are essential as is being a visible, collegial and effective leader, attuned to financial realities and committed to quality.
