•Evaluates national benchmarks and company Risk Management and Quality metrics trends that impact the center and company quality and risk management initiatives. •Develops and implements Risk Management programs, policies, and procedures that facilitate risk reduction, promote patient safety, and support the delivery of high quality health care. •Responsible for monitoring clinical Risk Management in all surgery centers by reviewing incident reports, outcome studies, on-site surveys, clinical audits and through direct and frequent communication with the Operations and Clinical staff. Communicates concerns regarding trends and specific Clinical issues. •Oversees and manages the development of all Risk Management policies and procedures to assure that they are consistent with national patient safety standards, as well as the accreditation standards of The Joint Commission ("TJC"), Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care ("AAAHC"), state licensing requirements, and Medicare Conditions of Participation. •Oversee data compilation and analysis for the production of quarterly Benchmarking reports. •Work with Business Analyst and other staff to maintain Quality database. •Works with Clinical and Quality staff to facilitate communication and response to sentinel events. •Directs investigation and coordination with Insurance. •Travels as needed to centers to conduct investigations or provide consultation •Oversee and manage the Clinical Risk Management system company-wide, which includes the following:?Field phone calls from corporate and center staff regarding clinical risk issues. ?Prepare quarterly reports on a per center and corporate basis. ?Conduct analysis and provide summaries of data for presentation to groups including Envision Board of Directors. ?Conduct or direct in depth investigations to include center staff, physicians, local risk managers, and corporate team members in the completion of the investigations regarding significant clinical events. ?Direct Risk Management education, including Root Cause Analysis. ?Participate in orientation of new Center Leaders. ?Generate reports on various quality indicators as requested by Operations. ?Research and render corporate risk opinions regarding identified and potential risks at the center level. ?Routinely report status regarding liability issues with the Insurance Department, Corporate Quality Assurance Committee, and members of Senior Management. ?Collaborate with medical malpractice carrier, keeping them informed of the clinical risks and to ensure that AMSURG has documented coverage of those risks. ?Assist legal counsel as needed
•Supports state-specific event reporting. •Serves as AMSURG liaison to Envision Patient Safety Organization. •Serves on the Corporate Quality Assurance Committee and prepares reports for presentation. •Regular and reliable attendance required.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Masters degree in Nursing or healthcare related field from an accredited college or university or a minimum of eight (8) years in a high level risk management position required. ASC experience preferred. Certification or licensure in Healthcare Risk Management preferred.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals and percentages.
Ability to understand, read, write and speak English. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to successfully write business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information, respond to questions and professionally interact with managers, employees, clients, vendors and the general public.
Ability to recognize and define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and correct errors. Ability to understand and interpret basic financial data. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in a variety of forms and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
