This position provides leadership to the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Division in all aspects of quality management including: establishing a systematic approach for program implementation and evaluation; setting clinical priorities; providing education, mentoring, and leadership; and monitoring and evaluating the delivery of clinical services. The position collaborate with the senior management team of the Minnesota Veterans Homes to set strategic health care initiatives, and agency level clinical education plan in order to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies. The position makes recommendations to the Deputy Commissioner and others regarding clinical care delivery.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Licensed in Minnesota as a Registered Nurse, in good standing
Five (5) years of health care management experience in a long-term care or senior housing setting
Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal long term care facility licensing and certification rules and accreditation standards
Comprehensive knowledge of the long term health care delivery system, associated legislation and regulations, and funding streams
Knowledge of recent innovations in long-term health care research and management
Knowledge and understanding of the theory and practices of strategic and operational planning, resource allocation, priorities management, contract management, and budget management
Knowledge of the special clinical care needs of the Veterans community
Licensed as a MN State Long-term Care Administrator or the ability to obtain one (1) within six (6) months
This position requires successful completion of the following:
A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check will be conducted on all finalists for this position. Finalists must pass the DHS background check.
A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x-ray) is required prior to employment.
Employee reference checks will be conducted on all finalists. This may include a review of documentation related to job performance. It also includes contact with the applicant's former employer(s).
