Manages the integrated activities of the Hospital Quality and Patient Safety program by keeping the mission and vision in focus at all times. Monitors the Quality and Safety programs of hospital departments; integrates medical staff quality activities with those of hospital departments; supports implementation of standards developed by the Arkansas Department of Health, The Joint Commission, and other regulatory agencies. Plans, directs, and coordinates all activities involving the Quality function; assists in the development of new programs and services that support clinical management, quality improvement and patient safety. Willingness to facilitate and participate on various Mercy Quality and Patient Safety committees and attend medical staff meetings. Manages and adheres to budget guidelines for the department. Performs related duties as assigned.
Education: Degree in health related field, required. Licensure: RN required Experience: At least three years’ experience in a hospital setting leading quality. Certifications: Other: Ability to analyze clinical and statistical data. Computer proficiency in Outlook, Excel, PP, and Word required. Must be proficient in medical terminology and patient care review, and experienced with accreditation (state, CMS, and Joint Commission) standards. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. High degree of diplomacy, with the the ability to lead and influence others. Ability to integrate clinical and financial data. Demonstrates ability to plan and organize the work in an independent manner. Preferred Education: Master’s Degree Preferred Licensure: Preferred Experience: Preferred Certifications: CPHQ, AAOS, ONC, AAON or other recognized quality certification
