A senior physician-executive position, reporting to the system Chief Medical Officer, is responsible for providing clinical leadership to a rapidly growing ambulatory clinical enterprise that is part of a successful integrated health system. Areas of responsibility include a growing physician group of over 150 high quality providers, as well as leading initiatives in population health and the shift to value-based care. Other areas of focus include new clinical program development and providing the clinical leadership for fostering relationships with payers and other clinical partners. Examples of value-based and population health initiatives include evaluation of bundled payment strategies and clinical development of employee health and wellness programs. The position provides progressive leadership to ensure seamless, integrated care with the intent of executing the triple aim (high quality, high patient satisfaction and low cost) in clinical operations of the physician group. Physician leadership coaching and mentorship are an important element of the job responsibility with the intent of minimizing clinical practice variation and increasing physician accountability. The position has direct reports of the Chief Physician Executive and the Chief Operating Officer of the physician group.
The successful candidate must possess a MD/DO degree and have Board Certification in a medical specialty with a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a physician leader/executive, preferably in a medium or larger size health system
Preferred candidates will also additionally possess a master’s degree in health care management, experience in managing physician group operations and have experience in value-based care models.
