The AVP of Quality and Patient Safety has administrative responsibility for the quality management/patient safety programs at Bon Secours Charity System. This individual is responsible for facilitating organizational success in the establishment of quality management systems and patient safety practices that exceed the standards set by the Joint Commission and regulatory agencies and for recommending to senior leadership, the resources needed to achieve this goal. The position leader will report to the Charity leader for quality and safety and to the Charity Chief Medical Officer. The Charity AVP of Quality and Safety will have a matrix report to the Network CMO and the Charity AVP of Quality and Safety will help to ensure that the WMC Health system CMO be concurrently apprised of all reportable events and regulatory and accreditation matters.
Requires a Clinical Degree: RN, APRN or PA
Master's degree in Health Care, Hospital Administration, or a related field, preferred.
Minimum of seven to ten years of progressive experience in health care administration with a focus on quality and safety. Experience should include administrative leadership in quality and safety at a tertiary facility. Demonstrated experience in a leadership position with responsibility for clinical operations, medical staff organization, graduate medical education, and developing and implementing quality assurance programs.
Knowledge of all applicable regulatory and accrediting agencies, including but not limited to the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations standards, CMS, OMH, The Justice Center, OSHA and New York State Health Department and New York State Education Department regulations.
