The Director is responsible for providing expert guidance and assistance to the Health Services Administrator in all matters relating to the delivery of health services to assure maintenance of quality standards. Responsibilities also include developing and implementing policies and procedures among health related staff as well as recruiting, hiring, orienting and assigning health related staff. The Director of Nursing works cooperatively with the Health Services Administrator, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Resident Services/Marketing to publicize services and maintain organization relations.
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in nursing from a National League for Nursing approved School of Nursing
Master's degree in nursing, health related field, or management preferred
Advanced degree a plus. NH Nursing Home Administrator license, or the ability to obtain, preferred
Five to eight years nursing experience
Minimum five years management experience
Two years of long term care experience
Licensed to practice professional nursing in the State of New Hampshire
Effective leadership, and interpersonal skills
Computer proficiency, well-organized, and collaborative decision making in a team-oriented environment
In-depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
Demonstrated knowledge of the appropriate skills for communicating with all ages, especially the geriatric population
