Director of System Clinical Quality and Patient Safety

Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and working closely with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), this position is responsible for the implementation and execution of initiatives to improve clinical quality outcomes while maintaining or improving operational efficiencies in clinical areas of the health system as well as the institution and application of practices to achieve evidence based, standardized care pathways across the system. Acts as knowledge expert for continuous quality improvement activities, including the application of the principals of high reliability in healthcare, providing leadership and education for clinical staff across the system. Responsible specifically for system leadership and coordination of Infection Prevention and Quality Management/Regulatory Compliance.

Minimum of three to five (3-5) years progressive leadership experience in a healthcare setting which included direct experience and/or influence in the areas of regulatory compliance, accreditation, safety, quality improvement, and infection prevention.
Responsible for handling confidential information with high degree of sensitivity and diplomacy. Professional attitude and appearance at all times. Must be mobile and travel to all sites. Hours will vary including evenings.
Must be an RN with Master's degree in nursing or health related field; preference may be given to individuals possessing a nationally recognized professional credential or further education in quality improvement. Employee must have an unrestricted RN license in the State of Tennessee.
Employee must have a valid Tennessee driver’s license Class D and state mandated minimum insurance coverage. Driving record must meet Covenant Health minimum standards at the date of hire and throughout employment tenure.
