City of Hope National Medical Center is seeking a Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology to join our expanding organization and serve as a mentor, clinical leader, and academic innovator. The Department of Anesthesiology at City of Hope provides a full spectrum of perioperative services aimed at delivering compassionate, evidence-based care of the highest quality, with our anesthesiologists serving as key members of a patient’s surgical team. Our team actively pursues innovative patient-centered research aimed at identifying the most advanced anesthetic techniques for surgical oncology patients. We deliver exquisite care at the leading edge of cancer treatment.
The ideal candidate will be an accomplished Anesthesiologist with experience as a senior leader building collaborative, innovative programs and demonstrating expertise in the growth and development, both clinically and academically, of faculty in the Department of Anesthesiology. Demonstrated expertise as an effective mentor and the ability to work effectively with both internal and external affiliates is vital. The Chair will serve as a strategic planner, faculty recruiter, financial steward, and consensus builder, and will be expected to qualify for a senior academic appointment in the City of Hope professorial succession. An appreciation of cancer patients requiring complex anesthetic care is essential.

Board Certified in Anesthesiology
Eligible candidates must possess a California license
At least 10 years of work experience (preferred)
