Providence is calling a Manager of Risk in Patient Safety to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska.

In this position you will:
Perform and maintain currency of essential competencies as required by specific area of hire and populations served
Serve as a resource to physicians and staff in clarifying and resolving risk management issues.
Monitor cases for risk issues.
Review Quality Review Report issues that may be the source of complaints of potential claim or legal action
Prepare Risk referred cases for Medial Staff Quality review, including timeline preparation and /or case summary
Assist and oversee any claims or lawsuits against the organization.
Facilitate collection of information necessary to assist legal counsel in the defense of claims.
Collaborate with counsel to respond, mitigate, and resolve lawsuits and claims against PHSA.
Provide and/or obtain legal reviews for complex healthcare situations.
Actively involved in all depositions, attorney interviews, mediations and PHSA trials.
Work collaboratively with System Claims Managers and Enterprise Risk Management.
Promote a safety-supportive culture at PAMC for the consistent application of evidence-based healthcare.
Develop institutional safety program goals across the organization.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in healthcare related field
Current Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) License
Current Membership in the American Society of Health Care Risk Management (ASHRM)
4 years experience in hospital leadership to include outcome process improvement, data analysis, demonstrated knowledge of hospital Quality and Risk Management
5 years clinical nursing experience in a hospital or clinical setting
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in healthcare related discipline
Certified Professional in Health Care Quality (CPHQ)
Certified Professional Health Care Risk Management (CPHRM) certification
Experience in Customer Service/Risk Management
