Southern Illinois Healthcare seeks a physician leader to serve as their Medical Director for their employed group. Southern Illinois Healthcare, an integrated health network with over 3,700 employees is comprised of over 20 facilities, including 3 inpatient hospitals, 4 clinics, 2 physician office buildings, and urgent care and dedicated centers that include neuro, cancer, heart, sleep and rehabilitation. One of the more successful rural health systems in the US, the employed network is rapidly growing. A $700 million net revenue health system, Southern Illinois is based in Carbondale, Illinois and serves over 350,000 people in the southernmost 16 counties of Illinois.
The ideal candidate for this opportunity is a seasoned physician leader, preferably a primary care physician, and one who will be highly visible and serve as a mentor to younger physicians. The physician leader will provide strategic and operational leadership for the SIH Medical Group, helping it function as an organized, effective, and well-managed network of physician practices. This leader will focus on physician engagement, alignment, recruitment, and retention strategies that promote best patient experiences, highest quality patient care and outcomes, efficient resource utilization and improved access to care. The physician leader will assist in building a single, multi-specialty feel for the SIH Medical Group
MD or DO required; Valid license to practice medicine
Board Certified Physician - Family Medicine or Internal Medicine preferred
