Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, the academic medical center of the RWJBarnabas Health System seeks an experienced Executive to lead the Cardiovascular Service Line. Key stakeholders include referring primary care physicians, cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, vascular surgeons, and transplant surgeons, cardiac anesthesiologists, nursing leadership, hospital executives, clinical and service leaders and other service line leaders. This executive will continue on building a unified, systematic and highly successful cardiovascular service line.
The Vice President of Cardiovascular Services is responsible for developing and aligning the strategic vision and infrastructure to successfully build and execute clinical programs of extraordinary quality that will drive growth, operational efficiency and financial performance.
The Vice President will need to be able to work in a highly complex organization. This position in collaboration with the Senior Executive team, will have shared responsibility for strategic planning and development of cardiovascular services at the academic medical center.
In addition to responsibility for volume growth as well as market share growth, this executive will have a focus on improving the financial performance of the cardiac service line and aggressively develop new business opportunities. This leader will need to engage and energize team members to add organizational value and to serves as a mentor to others.
Education Level Master's degree health administration or business administration is required. Clinical background and experience preferred.
Experience 5 years of progressive leadership experience, ideally in an academic medical center and/or major teaching hospital. Demonstrated success as an executive of a mature health care business who has attained superior results in competitive and/or difficult reimbursement markets; Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans in a clearly articulated manner; Strong orientation toward client service, quality improvement, team building and profitability; Demonstrated strength in physician communication/leadership and ability to integrate physicians into an emerging, ongoing or traditional business; Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; Proven ability to select, develop and mentor top talent, and create a productive environment that promotes initiative, innovation and continual learning.
