POSITION SUMMARYUnder administrative direction, responsible for department's business and strategic activities; directs internal management systems, process improvements, and policy activities. Aministers department _Ts finances, including budget development, data collection, and reporting. Directs administrative personnel functions and manages contracts and negotiations. Develops and implements new business initiatives; manages billing and compliance functions and oversees department _Ts technology initiatives. The Director of Radiology is responsible for designing and implementing the facility's imaging strategy, procedures, equipment and policies. Directs, manages and coordinates the technical, physical, and administrative activities of the Diagnostic Imaging, MRI, CT, NM and Ultrasound Departments in accordance with hospital policy, ACR, HRS, FDA, and Joint Commission.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTSCurrently certified/licensed with the State of New Jersey as a Radiologic Technologist- ARRT registered, biennial completion of minimumrequired CE credits to maintain certification.Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology; BS or BA degree.Minimum of seven (7) years experience in Radiology with five (5) years of progressively responsible, related management experience,preferably in a healthcare setting. Reasonable accommodations may be made for a qualified individual with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Participates in the strategic planning of the department; plans, directs, and coordinates departmental business activities; providesadvice, counsel, education, and service to Medical chairperson, faculty, and staff; develops methods for improving business operations.Develops safety protocols and regulations, ensuring the department _Ts compliance with facility and governmental requirements.Directs the Manager and Supervisors of the Radiology and other reporting department.Administers departmental finances; directs preparation of various budgets; guides the development of internal procedures for thepreparation and analysis of clinical revenue, expense reports, profit and loss statements, activity reports, and budget variance reports;negotiates contracts.Develops methods to improve the billing process including establishing departmental professional fees, assuring accurate coding,charge capture, entry and follow-up and maximizing returns on revenue; develop, implement and monitor departmental complianceplan.Plans, develops and pursues new business initiatives to grow the department _Ts business; responsible for monitoring, reviewing andcorrecting financial performance.Maintains open communication and serves as liaison to hospital personnel to assure coordination of radiology business operations,quality, and process improvement programs and marketing.Oversees departmental technology development and implementation.Directs administrative personnel functions.Performs other duties as assigned.
