Academic Position Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases and Geographic Medicine Stanford University
The Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases and Geographic Medicine at Stanford University is recruiting an academic member, with experience in Hospital Epidemiology, to either the Medical Center Line or the Clinician Educator Line. Candidates should be board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases and ideal candidates will have training and certification in Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology. In this position, the candidate will work in partnership with the current Hospital Epidemiologist as Co-Director of the infection control and hospital epidemiology department of Stanford Hospitals and Clinics (SHC). He/she will assist with overseeing staff and help manage all infection control protocols, policies, and procedures used in the Infection Prevention and Control department. In partnership with the Hospital Epidemiologist, this position will also be responsible for assuring that the Infection Prevention and Control Program works to assure that SHC complies with The Joint Commission, State and Federal regulatory requirements.
The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the Medical Center Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. The major criterion for appointment as Clinician Educators, including Clinician Educators (Affiliated), is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.
Academic line and rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. Candidates with expertise and scholarship and research programs in all areas of hospital epidemiology and infection prevention will be considered.
