Accountable for the supervision, planning, and implementation of activities of the Quality Services department to include; Patient Safety, Performance Improvement, Medication Safety Programs, Medical staff Peer review, Medical Staff Library and Cancer Care Program.
Identify and evaluate areas of clinical performance in the organization and aid staff in implementing plans for quality and patient safety improvements.
Provide quality and safety educational programs at CGH on both a regularly scheduled basis and as needed.
Chairs the Performance Improvement Committee and oversees the activities of any subcommittees and/or teams of these committees.
Overseas completion and appropriate reporting (i.e. graphs, tables, slides) of data results to staff, management, medical staff, departments, committees and outside governing bodies.
Responsible for maintaining regulatory and accreditation standards for the Quality & Patient Safety Program including but not limited to: medication safety, patient safety, leadership, cancer registry, and performance improvement and medical staff peer review.
Responsible for the development and monitoring of budget for the Quality & Patient Safety Services Department using organizational goals and objectives to ensure appropriate staff, space, equipment, and other resources.

SPECIALIZED KNOW-HOW & REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in business, nursing, or related area required.
Three years of progressively responsible healthcare experience in managing multiple functions including significant problem-solving experience required.
Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) required within one year of hire.
Significant body of knowledge in performance improvement theory and statistical analysis as well as general body of knowledge in healthcare regulatory standards required.
Experience in facilitating and leading PI teams using quality improvement methodology
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills required.
