This Leadership position creates organizational coherence through the development and direction of nursing and patient services activities that drive the provision of exceptional clinical care, exceptional patient and family experience, efficient use of resources, strategic growth and nation-leading research and education. Assists the Associate Chief Nursing Executive (ACNE) in providing leadership and administrative direction regarding nursing professional practice model and standards. Participates in the development of strategic business and marketing plans, goals and objectives which achieve organizational outcomes. Serves as the nursing representative, as needed with external groups as well as internally, to positively impact patient care processes and outcomes. Partners with nursing leaders and inter- professional team members in advancing safety and quality initiatives, clinical education, employee engagement and service delivery.
Leads nursing practice and clinical education teams providing operations management to ensure achievement of organizational vision, mission and goals as well as creating an environment that encourages individual accountability for nursing practice and learning.
Assists ACNE with development and implementation of the nursing strategic plan and shared leadership/governance structure to ensure alignment with professional practice model.
Provides leadership in fostering an environment of professional collaboration, critical thinking, innovation and research to enhance the achievement of the organizations objectives.
Collaborates with medical staff in the identification and resolution of issues affecting patient and family care.
Collaborates with patient safety and quality in the design, implementation and evaluation of effective safety and quality improvement programs for nursing and organization wide.
Collaborates with human resources and other teams to develop, implement and evaluate recruitment, retention and professional development programs.
Identifies the needs for human, material and capital resources and develops plans for assuring their availability through partnership with ACNE and other system nursing/clinical leaders.
Collaborates with clinical leaders and service lines in MHealth Fairview to improve patient care through application of best practice and the efficient utilization of resources.
Represents MHealth Fairview and nursing in service line, system and community planning activities as appropriate, with special attention to academic partnerships.
Provides oversight and direction to create an environment supportive of learning and inquiry for students in health care.

Fosters an environment where staff is motivated to take on new challenges.
Creates an environment that advances and utilizes evidence- based practice and research. Incorporates new research findings and technological advances into nursing practice, educational design and content to promote quality patient care and staff development.

DNP or PhD in nursing or related field
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in nursing
