Buffalo, NY –Catholic Health is seeking a distinguished executive to serve as its next Senior Vice President, Quality and Safety.
Based in Buffalo, Catholic Health is a $1.04 billion system formed in 1998 when the area's ministries first came together under one organization. In the years since, it has grown to become one of the largest health systems in Western New York, serving hundreds of thousands of patients across its network of hospitals, long-term care and subacute care facilities, primary care centers, home care agencies, rehabilitation services and diagnostic and treatment centers. Now with approximately 10,000 employees, the system is anchored by four hospitals across five campuses, including the Sisters of Charity Hospital of Buffalo, NY (including the Main Street Campus in Buffalo and the St. Joseph Campus in Cheektowaga), Mercy Hospital of Buffalo, Kenmore Mercy Hospital and Mount Saint Mary's Hospital of Niagara Falls.
The SVP, Quality and Safety will be responsible for unifying the quality and safety functions of Catholic Health under a single organizational structure in a manner that leverages and enhances the current and ongoing quality and safety efforts among providers and staff. This executive will promote appropriate integration and alignment in an effort to improve the quality and patient safety outcomes across the continuum, thereby improving the patient’s overall experience. The successful executive will establish a strategic framework for achieving the institution’s goals with regard to medical care quality, education quality, research quality and patient safety. The SVP, Quality and Safety will also provide leadership on all quality related issues in collaboration with the VPMAs, CNOs, and Chairs of Catholic Health and will support the Senior Director of Graduate Education in leading the integration of clinical practice with education and research throughout Catholic Health.
The ideal candidate will develop a culture of ownership for quality and safety throughout the organization, leading and aligning the system around quality initiatives to reduce variation in care and establish a quality platform for the entire organization. Because Catholic Health is a complex system that provides care across the continuum, the ideal candidate will bring experience in a multi-hospital system that includes ambulatory care, home health, long-term care and related services. They will be expert at guiding and managing a high-performing leadership team, creating a culture of performance and accountability and establishing high-trust partnerships with key stakeholders to achieve results.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an accomplished clinical leader who is passionate about enriching the quality and safety of patient care during a very exciting period of time for Catholic Health.
