The System Director of Performance Improvement is responsible for providing overall direction for all performance improvement activities, special projects and initiatives identified by System CQTO and PHH executive team. This position reports to Penn Highlands Healthcare System Chief Quality & Transformation Officer (CQTO).

This position requires a leader that is able to facilitate and drive change in a fast paced and ever changing environment leveraging his/her strong interpersonal skills, Lean tools and business acumen. Key to success in this position is the ability to work within and across the organization at all levels creating value and buy-in. This position will apply Lean concepts to improvement efforts across the organization, working collaboratively with senior leaders, service line leaders and medical staff to identify process gaps, cost/expense variations and improvement opportunities. Must be able to drive change, lead cross-functional teams, and coach and develop Lean skills within the team and across the organization.

The primary objective of this position is to facilitate strategic/operational changes and process improvement initiatives/projects designed to achieve significant results which support improving quality, safety and experience and reducing cost, with a focus on clinical quality, cost effectiveness, service delivery, process redesign, outcomes measurement, risk avoidance/control, and regulatory compliance. This position collaborates with a broad constituency at all organizational levels to improve in the areas of clinical quality, patient safety, patient experience/satisfaction, and operations advocating for the adoption and application of performance improvement concepts aimed at increasing value to our patients and colleagues through utilization of Penn Highlands Management System Framework. Consults with senior leaders and leads the performance improvement and data analytics department of PHH.
