The role you’ll contribute:
The Infection Control Practitioner (ICP) is responsible for the implementation, deployment, and support of the Infection Control program for the hospital and office based practices. The ICP provides direction and support as a member of the Quality and Patient Safety team to maximize value within the organization. The ICP provides day-to-day monitoring, control and prevention of nosocomial infections, monitors house-wide surveillance, remains up-to-date with local and state outbreaks through collaboration with the local health department. The ICP provides staff and physician education through Orientation, the annual Skills Fair, Inservices and 1:1 training. The ICP communicates with our patients and their families on issues related to infection prevention, use of personal protective equipment and disease specific information. The ICP utilizes the CDC guidelines as the “source of truth”/evidence for establishing practice standards throughout the organization. The ICP collects and reports data as required/requested. (i.e. Surgical Site Infections, Mandatory Reporting to the Health Department, submission of NHSN data, Wall Walk graphs). The ICP is responsible for developing and implementing policies governing control of infectins and communicable disease. The ICP is responsible for developing a system for identifying, reporting, investigating and controlling infections and communicable idseases. The ICP maintains current all organization Infection Control policies and procedures as well as the annual Infection Control Plan and Annual Report.

Qualifications The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:
· Experience with Cerner applications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· AS degree from an accredited school of nursing
· Current clinical experience
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Project management and analytical experience
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
· APIC Basic training in Infection Control
· BS/BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing
· Certification in Infection Control
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
· RN Florida license
· APIC approved Infection Control Certification on hire or within 24 months of assuming the ICP position
