The RN, Analyst. Quality Outcomes is primarily responsible for supporting the physician peer review process and performance improvement initiatives. This role works closely with the Medical Staff leadership on providing accurate summaries, data trending, reports and analysis. Assists with development and implementation of strategies for improving performance. Maintains confidentiality and protects sensitive data at all times.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
Works in conjunction with the physician leadership, Medical Staff Department and Executive Director of Quality to coordinate and facilitate the physician peer review process.
Reviews, analyzes and summarizes medical records for use in the physician peer review process.
Attends Physician Peer Review meetings and serves as a liaison between various committees to facilitate communication and referral of cases for further physician review.
Maintains knowledge of Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies standards/regulations pertaining to the physician peer review process.
Maintains knowledge of the hospital Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and policies.
Maintains confidentiality of protected health information in compliance with HIPAA Privacy Rule.
Facilitates, leads and actively participates in performance improvement activities both for medical staff metrics and hospital initiatives.
Reviews, analyzes and summarizes data for quality improvement initiatives
