The role you’ll contribute:
The Regulatory Advocacy Manager is responsible for supporting regulatory efforts for the AdventHealth (AH) system. In this role, the Regulatory Advocacy Manager is responsible for the monitoring, evaluation, analysis, and tracking of proposed state rules and regulations. In addition, this position is responsible for reviewing and providing comments on proposed legislation in collaboration with the Government Advocacy team. As a member of the AH Advocacy and Public Policy team, the Regulatory Advocacy Manager will proactively recommend and participate in development of proposed legislative and regulatory changes that will improve operations and support our strategic initiatives. The individual must be able to develop strong working relationships with AH executives, Regulators, and other internal and external stakeholders. As directed, this individual will attend and/or actively participate in public workshops and rule hearings on behalf of AH and its facilities. The Regulatory Advocacy Manager reports directly to the Director of Regulatory Advocacy

Develops and maintains a regulatory tracker necessary to monitor and
track outcomes of proposed rules and regulations published in the Administrative Code.
Reviews, researches and analyzes proposed and new state regulations for potential operational implications and policy changes.
Proactively evaluates state regulations to identify areas of opportunity.
Develop AH’s official external and internal response/comments in collaboration with impacted departments and leaders.
Attends and organizes AH participation in public workshops and rule hearings.
Provides timely regulatory updates as necessary.
Reviews, researches and analyzes proposed and new legislation for potential operational implications and policy changes.
Develops AH's official external and internal response/comments in collaboration with impacted departments and leaders
Actively participates with and collaborates with the Government Advocacy team during and after the legislative session in the review and response to proposed or needed legislative changes.
Creates Regulatory Briefs to provide AH providers guidance on new state laws passed during the legislative session, including effective dates.
Develops and utilizes understanding of key regulatory and public policy issues as defined by the Executive Director of Regulatory Administration and the AHS Advocacy leadership team.
Understands and articulates national, state, and local regulatory and policy issues to internal and external Leadership audiences.
Monitors and analyzes state regulatory and legislative policy issues to update internal departments on potential operational or policy changes.
Tracks all state trends in assigned areas, such as, but not limited to, health care reform, health care quality, etc.
Researches and provides guidance for additional requests for related to State and Federal regulations.
Maintains high visibility and positive relationships on behalf of AHS with the Agency for Health Care Administration and other regulatory agencies and trade associations.
Serves on or participates with regulatory/government/association boards/councils and workshops.
Actively participates and collaborates with the Government Relations department in policy and advocacy forums and the development of Public Policy positions.
Performs special projects and other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department, and the success of the organization, with limited supervision.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration, Health Planning, Business, Communications, or related field
Three to five years of experience in Health Care, Compliance, Government/Public Relations, or Health Care Regulations
Strong communication, analytical, interpersonal, organizational, writing and research skills.
Extremely detail-oriented, organized and ability to prioritize without supervision.
Strong project management skills (providing updates, ability to follow-through and achieve execution of department/organizational priorities).
Ability to multi-task and work under aggressive regulatory and/or internal deadlines.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work and learn independently, develop new ideas, maintain flexibility, and meet deadlines.
Ability to constructively interact with a range of personalities at many levels internally and externally.
Ability to work proactively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proficiency in email, calendar, spreadsheet, presentation, and word processing software (e.g., Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
