Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) has retained WittKieffer to assist in the recruitment of candidates for the Chief Compliance Officer. This position will support the organization in a hybrid setting or virtually with attendance at Blue Cross NC sites as required.

The Chief Compliance (CCO) will provide overall direction through the strategic development and execution of a healthcare compliance program in support of the mission and strategic goals of Blue Cross NC. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer of Blue Cross NC, this executive position serves as a role model for ethical management behavior and promotes an awareness and understanding of positive ethical principles, compliance with federal and state law in all areas of compliance, and assists in planning and identifying priorities for compliance.

The successful candidate must have a Bachelor's degree, while a Master's Degree, Law Degree, other advanced degree, or a certificate in health compliance is preferred. In addition, candidates must have an outstanding record of achievement, with at least ten (10) years experience in government and commercial healthcare insurance plans and knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations regarding healthcare billing, delivery and operations. Familiarity with operational, financial, quality assurance, and human resource procedures and regulations is required.
