Neuroscience nursing at Barnes-Jewish Hospital offers rewarding and challenging opportunities on two neuro medicine floors, a neurosurgical step-down unit as well as a 20-bed neuro intensive care unit. Our Neuro ICU is one of the nation's largest and most sophisticated neurological neurosurgical intensive care unit, treating and researching conditions that include strokes, subarachnoid hemorrhages, subdural and epidural hematomas, intraparenchymal hemorrhages, traumatic brain injuries, brain tumors, neuro-muscular diseases and spinal injuries. ; As a major teaching hospital, Barnes-Jewish is continually advancing the neurosciences. Preferred Qualifications
Role Purpose
Provides analytical support to departments as assigned. Responsible for collection, retrieval, maintenance, and generation of reports/analysis of clinical data and satisfaction data for use in outcome and utilization reporting and quality performance improvement activities; chart abstraction as required; serve as resource to Managers, and employees using Internet, internal and external databases, plus other sources as needed.
Responsibilities
Abstracts clinical data patient records using indicators and standardized data collections tools.
Develops and maintains databases and data sets to support performance improvement functions.
Assists in preparation of statistical reports, graphs, and control charts.
Participates in event investigations, root cause analysis, and performance improvement teams.
