Position Summary: The Infection Prevention Practitioner is responsible for assisting with the development, implementation, coordination, and monitoring of the MultiCare Health System Infection Prevention Program. This position is required to develop, analyze, and interpret a variety of information relating to infection control surveillance, policies, procedures, staff education, practices, and regulatory mandates, requiring independent decision-making and analytical problem solving.
Minimum Requirements: Registered Nurse with a valid license to practice nursing in the State of Washington 2 years and current clinical experience in a hospital or ambulatory setting. -- OR-- BS, MT(ASCP) with a focus in microbiology 5 years and current clinical experience in infection prevention and control in acute and ambulatory, adult and pediatrics. -- OR-- Master in Public Health, Environmental Health or other related degree 5 years experience in health care Experience in Infection Prevention and Control preferred -- OR-- Industrial Hygienist, CIH 2 years experience in health care Experience in Infection Prevention and Control preferred Experience with health care construction Experience with ventilation, air sampling, PPE, surveillance, and epidemiology Must be CIH certified or certification eligible or attain certification within 6 months of hire
