Description
Hartford Healthcare seeks a Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Coordinator to lead quality, safety, and performance initiatives across our Healthcare & Medical Services department. You will design and monitor QA/PI programs, analyze clinical and operational data, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Partnering with interdisciplinary teams, you’ll drive process improvements, support staff education, and track outcomes to enhance patient safety, care quality, and efficiency. Collect, analyze, and interpret clinical and operational data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
Conduct audits, chart reviews, and compliance checks against internal policies and external regulatory/accreditation requirements.
Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards for quality, safety, and patient experience.
Lead or facilitate root cause analyses and corrective action plans for quality and safety events.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and administrative leaders to plan and execute improvement projects.
Prepare clear reports and presentations for leadership, quality committees, and regulatory reviews.
Support staff education on quality methodologies, policies, and best practices.
Ensure readiness for Joint Commission and other regulatory/accreditation surveys.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, patient safety, and interdisciplinary teamwork.
Healthcare quality improvement methodologies (e.g., PDSA, Lean, Six Sigma)
Data analysis and interpretation (Excel, BI tools, or similar)
Clinical quality metrics and patient safety indicators
Regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS)
Chart auditing and documentation review
Root cause analysis and corrective action planning
Project management for improvement initiatives
Development and monitoring of KPIs and dashboards
Report writing and presentation of quality findings
Electronic health record (EHR) navigation and data extraction
