Are you a strategic healthcare leader passionate about improving quality, safety, and patient outcomes? MaineHealth Behavioral Health is seeking a Senior Director of Quality & Safety to lead system-wide initiatives that drive clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and a culture of continuous improvement across our behavioral health services.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the strategy and execution of quality and patient safety programs across behavioral health
- Partner with clinical and operational leaders to improve outcomes and reduce risk
- Oversee regulatory readiness, accreditation, and performance improvement initiatives
- Use data and analytics to identify trends, measure performance, and drive change
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and high reliability
What You’ll Bring
- Education: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in a health-related field; Master's degree preferred
- License/Certifications: Certification as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) strongly preferred
- Experience: At least five years of experience related to clinical quality and patient safety
- Familiarity with clinical quality measurement and reporting and with patient safety reporting software required
- Familiarity with electronic health records and clinical decision support required
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical information in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- One to two years demonstrated leadership competence or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Self-directed and self-motivated with a firm understanding of leadership role; proven track record of motivating others to improve clinical quality and patient safety
- Effective communicator with the ability to create strong partnerships; able to serve as a role model through professional behavior and open, direct communication
